Music and the Brain | Harvard Medical School

People turned to the amazing power of music for solace as COVID-19 crept stealthily throughout the globe. David Silbersweig, chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Nikki Haddad, MD, of Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School, explain how music activates various regions of the brain through auditory stimulation. Silbersweig and Haddad are both seasoned musicians, thus they are both quite interested in this subject. Modern brain research is being used to enhance the therapeutic benefits of music for neurological illnesses like dementia, depression, and others.
